I find the mind-body connection truly fascinating. There is a wealth of scientific evidence supporting the effectiveness of various approaches, including Hypnosis, EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), and the Goulding SleepTalk™ method. These methods have been shown to significantly improve mental and emotional well-being, and I wanted to share some of the latest research with you.

A brief overview of the findings
This study showed that within six months, 100% of the children with selective mutism showed improvement in emotional resilience and communication using the Goulding SleepTalk™ Method. Parents’ positive suggestions delivered during the child’s sleep contributed to the breakthrough, helping overcome the barriers of selective mutism.

A brief overview of the findings
Following the devastating Black Saturday bushfires, 100% of children involved in this study exhibited improvement in areas such as behaviour, academic performance, and emotional resilience after their parents implemented the Goulding SleepTalk™ Method. The process, which occurs during a specific sleep phase, allowed positive affirmations to bypass conscious resistance, significantly enhancing the children’s emotional well-being.

Hypnotic enhancement of cognitive-behavioural weight loss treatments—Another meta-reanalysis.

A brief overview of the findings
- In this study patients who took the CBT approach lost a mean weight of 6.03lb whereas the patients who took the hypnosis approach lost a mean weight of 14.88lb.
- People who lost weight with hypnosis lost 85% more weight than those attempting to lose weight with CBT.
- In this meta analysis findings were that “the benefits of hypnosis increased substantially over time.”
Guided Health Imagery for Smoking Cessation and Long Term abstinence.

A brief overview of the findings
- 71 people were involved in the study, 38 in the intervention group and 33 in the control group.
- After a 2 year period, it was found that smoking abstinence rates were found to be significantly higher for the guided health imagery intervention group.
- It was concluded that guided imagery was an effective method for long-term smoking cessation.
Case study of Hypnosis for panic disorder

A brief overview of the findings
- 27 year old, female nurse has a 2 and half year history of a panic disorder.
- Cognitive Therapy & antidepressant medication did not help.
- During Hypnosis she was able to discover the root cause was childhood separation anxiety.
- With a combined approach of Hypnosis and Psychotherapy she was able to completely recover from panic attacks and agoraphobia without any medication and still free of this 1 year later.

A brief overview of the findings
- A 28 year old firefighter suffered with panic attacks almost daily for four months.
- Hypnosis was used to address this.
- Six years after his final hypnosis session, the firefighter reported that he still remained panic free.
Relaxation and Hypnosis in reducing Anxious-depressive symptoms and insomnia

A brief overview of the findings
- Results showed that Hypnosis and relaxation techniques combined was an effective method for those suffering with anxious-depressive disorders associated with insomnia.
- It was found that “Hypnotherapy and hypnosis can bring their contribution to diminishing problems related to anxiety reported by patients”.
- The study found that there was no difference to the results based on gender, meaning that hypnosis reduced anxiety, depression and insomnia symptoms for all genders.

A brief overview of the findings
- A study of 60 patients for elective plastic surgery with a control group and hypnosis group.
- Post operative pain and anxiety were significantly lower in the Hypnosis group.
- Less signs of pain and discomfort were observed by the psychologist in the Hypnosis group.
- The patients who had received hypnosis had more stable vital signs.
- Patients in the Hypnosis group required less pain relief medication.
